if simple is something subjective, do we reason or decide by heart? why are those questions not simple?
do it simple or simply do it is my thesis for university which investigates more about the complexity of the simple. It is a research about why doing it simply good is not always simple done.
while a student exchange in argentine i experienced at a very young age (15) a different education and daily lifestyle. when i was at university, where i was thought in the german / structual / organized way, where everything must have an explanation, i missed that chaotic and improvised lifestyle. i wanted to find out if creative people in argentina work and think differently than germans. my project was not about comparing cultures, it was about leaving the track and getting inspiration and simply doing things differently. in this book you find 30 creative people from argentina and germany who responded to 15 questions about the complexity of the simple. they didnt know the questions before and were filmed by a simple canon ixus camera (old in 30″ seconds cut”).
the book has two parts, the interviews in two languages and a quotation section. i also cut a video of 30 min as a documentation. this was my first video cut but in all this projects development my philosophy was “just do it”… so sorry for errors if you find some…
